Hotel Kami no Yu Onsen

I found Kamino-yu Onsen when I searched for a solo trip, 2 nights, smoking, Onsen, and in-Room dining. I was able to relax in the Onsen and feel refreshed, and I could even see Mt. Fuji from my Room.Because of my knee, getting up from the futon and standing up from floor cushions was a bit difficult, so I wished there had been a floor chair. The staff greeted me with smiles, which made me happy. Dinner served in my Room was also very satisfying, and I appreciated that the menu was different on both days.There is a valuables locker at the entrance to the large public bath: you set a PIN first, then put your Room key inside and lock it. However, I mistakenly locked it before setting the PIN and couldn’t open it (T . T), which caused extra trouble for the staff. It may be better to leave your Room key at the front desk m(__)mThere were plenty of washing stations in the bathing area as well, so it never felt crowded. My skin felt smooth after bathing.I would like to stay again.On the second day they called a taxi for me, and I was able to visit Shosenkyo Ropeway and Sengataki Falls and enjoy a leisurely walk.

As this was probably the cheapest Plan, the Room amenities weren’t anything special, but considering the price it was reasonable. The place was kept clean and I was able to stay comfortably without any inconvenience (the extension phone line cutting out at times, and the older sink making a “gurgling” sound when running hot water were just part of the charm).I saw recent Reviews mentioning the bath temperature, but it seems that feedback has now been reflected. I truly appreciate the thoughtful consideration so guests aren’t put at a disadvantage.The paid private bath is of course great, but I especially liked the atmosphere of the free private bath. It felt like staff-made touches added a special sense of occasion.The interior—likely from the Showa to early Heisei era—has been preserved without being stripped away, creating a nostalgic and comforting vibe. The service was genuinely very polite, and I had a pleasant stay. Highly recommended for anyone whose main purpose is enjoying the baths!
