Ever since I happened to stay here on a trip to Wakayama, I’ve been coming back regularly. This is already my third stay. I get the sense it used to be a love hotel, but in any case, it’s extremely clean and comfortable. For this level of quality, the value for money is outstanding. Highlights: The Room is very spacious and spotless. The toilet and bathroom are separate, and the bath is large enough to soak properly in the tub. The bed is double-sized and roomy. Amenities are well stocked. I still haven’t found any downsides lol. I’ll definitely stay here again when I’m back in Wakayama.

I visited again for the first time in 10 years. I stayed to celebrate my companion’s birthday. Thank you very much for celebrating with so many gifts. The first night’s dinner was the Aoi Kaiseki course. I expected it to be a standard kaiseki meal, but not at all—it was surprisingly delicious and felt like an impressive full-course dinner. All of the staff worked so efficiently and professionally, which I found wonderful. The beautiful scenery was truly soothing.

This was my first stay. I booked an assigned-at-check-in Room Plan, but I was given an oceanfront Room with a wonderful view. The light kaiseki dinner course was just the right amount for me, and everything was delicious. The Room and the large public bath seemed to have been renovated; they were clean and well maintained. All staff provided excellent service, and the Shuttle Service to Wakayama Station was a key factor in choosing this Ryokan. Thanks to you, I had a relaxing one-night stay. Thank you very much. I would definitely stay again.

We stayed here during our wedding anniversary trip. Due to an unexpected incident, we arrived much later than planned and missed the open-air bath while watching the sunset we had been looking forward to. Dinner ended up being rushed as well, but we were able to enjoy premium ingredients. Breakfast was also excellent. During our stay, a male staff member was very kind and helpful. Because it is quite far away, we cannot visit often, but we would like to return if we have the opportunity.

The Room, large public bath, and interior were all very clean and bright, making it a highly comfortable Facility. The Onsen water quality was also excellent, and it felt like great value for money. However, the breakfast buffet had a lot of fried items, which was the only disappointing point. Overall, it is a good Hotel and I would recommend it.

We stayed here as three generations of women. Both dinner and breakfast were served in a private room, and we were very satisfied with the food. The staff were courteous, and we were able to make wonderful memories. Thank you very much.

After visiting Kimiidera Temple, we headed to Waka-no-ura. The stunning views made it a wonderful trip. From our Room, Waka-no-ura Bay opened up before us, with views of the opposite shore and even as far as Shikoku. Early in the morning, we could also watch what were likely fishing boats moving about in groups. The meals and Facility were excellent, and above all, the staff were kind and attentive, allowing us to enjoy a relaxing stay. In the surrounding area, a metamorphic rock known as Kishū Aoishi was beautifully displayed and used for garden stones, steps, and stone walls. Perhaps it was just timing, but we hardly saw any tourists. I personally prefer it quiet, but I would like to see this area promoted more. I believe this beautiful stone from Waka-no-ura is also mentioned in the Man’yōshū. In addition to the Waka-no-ura area, we also visited central Wakayama City, Dōjōji Temple, and downtown Yuasa.

I had mistakenly made a Reservation for a smoking Room, but when I informed the front desk, they did everything they could and changed it to a non-smoking Room, which was a huge help. The entire property has apparently been fully renovated, and it was so clean it felt brand new. The Room—including the bathroom and toilet—was very comfortable to use. Breakfast was served in a bright, beautiful restaurant with an open view of Wakayama Castle. They offered many local specialties such as chagayu (tea rice porridge), umeboshi (pickled plums), Kinzanji miso, and Wakayama ramen—all delicious. I will definitely stay here again whenever I visit Wakayama. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

Due to Reservation and Room availability, we were suddenly moved from a twin Room to a Japanese-Western style Room. It was very spacious, and we wondered if it was okay for just two of us to stay in a four-person Room. We were able to relax comfortably. We really appreciated the many services and thoughtful touches throughout this Dormy Inn Hotel. We will definitely stay again. I would love a loyalty program where benefits accumulate like mileage after staying multiple times. Also, compared with booking directly with Dormy Inn, making a Reservation through IKYU is easier.

It was a late check-in as I only used it mostly for sleeping. Although the room was small, there were drink bar services and breakfast included, making it very cost-effective!

It was newly renovated and very comfortable. The service was warm and welcoming, which made my stay pleasant. I had an early morning and couldn’t try the breakfast, but I’d like to have it next time.

The following items were listed in the Facility information, so I brought them from home, but they were actually provided at the amenity bar. I was very pleased, but it might be helpful to update the Facility information for future guests. × Comb/Brush × Bath Additives × Yukata × Lotion × Emulsion × Makeup Remover This time, I was able to stay at a very reasonable price, and I also appreciated the extension cord and extra towels provided in the Room. I will definitely use this place again when visiting Wakayama!

We stayed in a sea-side Japanese-style Room without a bath, with meals included. ・The ocean view from the window was amazing, and the sunset was beautiful—really wonderful. ・Even when dining in the restaurant, we could enjoy our meal while looking out at the sea through the windows, which was very satisfying. ・For dinner we chose the delicious Waka kaiseki course. The portions were generous and everything tasted great—excellent overall. As with other Ryokan, dishes like this take over 20 minutes to cook rice, so if you want to enjoy your meal together with freshly cooked rice, I recommend asking them to start cooking it early. ・The Onsen also had an open-air bath with an ocean view; it felt very open and was extremely pleasant and relaxing. ・My husband is a smoker, so we used a smoking Room, but there was no cigarette smell. There was also an air purifier, and we felt everything was well taken care of. ・There is parking available, so we left our car there and walked about 7 minutes to Kada Port for Tomogashima ferries. ・All staff members were kind, and we had a very comfortable stay. We received such satisfying service at a great price that it became a wonderful travel memory. We would like to stay again. Thank you very much.

We stayed for a family trip with breakfast only. The room has four beds, and thanks to the two-seater sofa and table, even four adults could relax comfortably. The bathroom area was spacious and clean, and we enjoyed a relaxing bath. The view from the window and from the restaurant was wonderful, and breakfast was delicious. Since this trip was mainly for sightseeing, next time we’d like to spend more time relaxing at the Hotel. Highly recommended.

The Onsen was excellent. I really enjoyed the crisp, fizzy carbonated bath first thing in the morning. The Room was spacious and relaxing, but it was a bit inconvenient that the toilet and washbasin were in the same area. We also enjoyed the chef’s signature dishes—they were delicious. The dried cutlassfish served at breakfast was unusual and very tasty. It was a shame it wasn’t available to buy as a souvenir.

I came by car. If you let them know in advance, you can park at the Hotel. Even if it’s full, there are plenty of nearby parking lots for about ¥800–¥900 per day. The Hotel felt like it was in a mixed-use building, but it was surprisingly safe and comfortable. The Room bathroom is a compact unit bath (toilet and shower together), so it’s small. It may feel tight for larger guests. The toilet has a bidet seat. The Room was better than expected for the price—excellent value for money. There is conditioner in the Room bath, but the large public bath in the basement only has 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner, so people with long hair may find their hair feels rough afterward. Also, to get to the basement bath you need to go down a slightly sketchy staircase directly in front of the front desk. The bath is available late at night as well, which is convenient if you don’t want to worry about time. There are proper lockers too. For dinner, since it’s right by the station there are many places to eat nearby, which is convenient. Of course, the Hotel also has a restaurant. There’s also a Yamazaki Shop convenience store on-site, but it isn’t open 24 hours. Both check-in and check-out are done via a touch panel, but staff are right there at the front desk so it feels reassuring. Their service is very polite. There are elevators near the entrance and in front of the convenience store area; depending on where your Room is located this can be either convenient or less so. Breakfast includes both rice and bread. It felt like a Business Hotel in London—you toast your own bread using a toaster in a dimly lit first-floor restaurant. Breakfast is buffet-style. If you keep expectations modest and think of it as standard fare, you’ll be satisfied. Overall, this Hotel offers great value for money—close to the station with pleasant service. The price was so reasonable that I’d like to stay again.

The view from the room was great, and we had a comfortable stay. Breakfast while looking out at Wakayama Castle was also very delicious.

The breakfast is truly delicious. The miso soup is perfect for soothing a hangover.

This is my nth stay here. Even when I called to say I would be arriving late, they responded very kindly. When I asked the front desk about something else as well, the service was excellent, and once again I felt the quality is high! As for breakfast, there isn’t a huge variety. However, it’s obvious at a glance that everything is handmade. You can eat with peace of mind. The flavors are simple—just like home cooking—so you don’t get tired of it. You can really tell how much care they put into making it. I was truly grateful and enjoyed it very much. I’d love to stay again, and I’d like to have breakfast again too.

The Hotel front desk staff always speak very politely, and I’m impressed every time. This time, my Room was in a newly renovated area, so it was extremely comfortable. I also love having breakfast on the top floor. It’s within walking distance of Wakayama-shi Station, which I look forward to each visit. I will stay again next time.
