Both the Room and the large public bath were clean and comfortable. The large public bath is not very spacious, but it offers views of the Alps mountain range and was very relaxing. The breakfast had a great variety unique to Nono and was delicious. The breakfast staff were attentive, promptly refilling dishes and clearing tables, so we could enjoy our meal comfortably and were very satisfied.

This time, I stayed in the Koyanagi Room. The Room was beautifully arranged, and I sank into the incredibly comfortable rocking chair, played my favorite music through the speaker, and read a book—gradually feeling freed from everyday life. The meal was a carefully crafted course that you won’t find elsewhere and truly nourished both body and soul. The outdoor bath late at night was also a quietly moving experience. Highly recommended as a special treat for yourself!

The front desk staff and breakfast staff provided excellent service, making my stay very pleasant. (Although I made a mistake with the Reservation, I appreciate their assistance.) The public bath is small, but other services more than make up for it. You can take your breakfast to your Room in a takeaway container, amenities are well-stocked, and there are pillows and room wear available. The TV allows access to YouTube and Netflix as well. (No need to bring an Amazon Prime stick.) I was overwhelmed by the exceptional hospitality and responsiveness of the staff. Thank you very much!

When I visited Zenkoji Temple to give thanks for completing the Saigoku Pilgrimage, I stayed at the nostalgic Asama Onsen, which I had last visited more than 40 years ago. I chose Kikunoyu, a historic Ryokan built in the traditional honmune-zukuri style. From parking on arrival, the staff kindly guided me into the building. The massive zelkova main pillar and heavy beams were breathtaking, and I was deeply moved by how magnificent the building was—exactly as rumored. Then to my Room: it was spotless, not a speck of dust anywhere. It felt like everything had been checked again and again. You can truly sense their high standards of hospitality and thoughtful attention to detail. After refreshing myself in the Onsen—known as a “beauty bath”—I headed to dinner. Hot dishes were served hot, and each course arrived at just the right time to match our pace. Using seasonal local ingredients, every dish in this kaiseki meal was carefully prepared with great effort, reflecting the high level of skill of the head chef and kitchen team. After dinner, I enjoyed another soak in the large public bath after it switched over for men and women, then went to bed. The next morning, I enjoyed another elaborate and delicious breakfast. At check-out, I had a pleasant conversation with the elegant proprietress (okami), who shared many stories with me. She then saw me off until my car disappeared from view. Kikunoyu truly lived up to its reputation as a long-established Ryokan—I left completely satisfied in both body and mind. Thank you so much for adding something special to my trip to Nagano.

It was a clean Hotel conveniently located near the station. The amenities are offered buffet-style, so you can take only what you need, which is efficient and great. I deducted one star because the bath was a typical Hotel bath, but using the provided bath salts helped me feel refreshed. Above all, the bed firmness suited my preference and made it easy to sleep. If I visit Matsumoto again, I’d like to stay here again.

A relative was hospitalized in Matsumoto, so I had to stay here on short notice. I chose it mainly for the convenient location near the station and the checkout time, but the Room was spacious and bright, with a well-balanced level of digital features, which felt very relaxing. The large public bath also displayed crowding status, so I could enjoy a leisurely soak during a quieter time. Highly recommended.

Our first time in Matsumoto. The Hotel we stayed at the night before in Kamikochi was wonderful, but the meals here were even better, and my spouse and I were truly impressed. The staff provided attentive and pleasant service with perfect timing, allowing us to enjoy a very fulfilling dinner. We would love to visit again.

We stayed in a Room with a private bath. The Room was very spacious, and both the interior and the bath were clean and beautiful, making it easy to relax and unwind. The amenities were well stocked, so we felt right at home. The bath was also large and comfortable, and the provided hair dryer, shampoo, and other items were high quality. The staff were very courteous as well, which made our stay pleasant—we were very satisfied. Personally, it was the best Accommodation I have stayed at so far. I would love to stay again. Thank you.

We stayed at this Accommodation during our trip to Matsumoto as a couple. We were told that a larger Room than the one we had reserved was available, so we ended up staying there at short notice. The Room was clean and very comfortable. The unit bath was also very clean and well maintained. In the morning, we had a buffet at Gusto on the first floor. It was a fun experience—having a buffet at Gusto isn’t something you get to do very often. The food was delicious, and we ate plenty. When we stay in Matsumoto again, we would definitely like to use this Accommodation again.

Warm, heartfelt hospitality, delicious meals, and a wonderful hot bath—this was a lovely Accommodation. We were completely satisfied! Singing and dancing along with the mandolin concert was so much fun and became a great memory. Thank you for the photos. We’d love to visit again in a different season.

It was very convenient, located just a few minutes’ walk from central attractions such as Matsumoto Castle, Nakamachi Street, and museums, and about a 10-minute walk to Matsumoto Station.\nIt was a small, clean Accommodation, and we enjoyed a delicious breakfast.\nIf staying in Matsumoto City, this is the Accommodation I would choose.

We got a great deal, and they even upgraded us to a better Room—everything was taken care of. The parking lot is convenient at 1,100 yen with unlimited in-and-out access. It’s close to the station, and the service is excellent—an Hotel we truly appreciated.

Arrived tired... The natural Onsen bath was wonderful! The staff's courteous service was very helpful. I also enjoyed the soba noodles for breakfast.

I stayed here recently to see the projection mapping at Matsumoto Castle. The location is very convenient as it is close to Matsumoto Castle, and the Hotel was clean. My Room was on the 1st floor, so I didn’t need to use the elevator, and since the bath was also on the 1st floor, it was very convenient. About 10 cm of snow fell in one day, and I could see a snow-covered Matsumoto Castle the next morning, which became a wonderful memory. The Hotel staff were kind and made my stay pleasant. Thank you!

We stayed over a three-day weekend and were very satisfied with both the Facility and the service. It turned into a last-minute trip and we made our Reservation on the day of our stay, but this Ryokan was more comfortable than the Accommodation Fee would suggest. Meals: Breakfast featured a wide variety of dishes made with local ingredients. Everything was delicious. Room: The Room was clean and spacious enough for two people. Being able to replace the hand towels was a small touch, but I really appreciated it. Baths: We bathed twice, morning and evening. We were grateful that we could Reserve a private bath by phone before check-in. Every bath was very clean; none were particularly large, but they felt calm and relaxing. Because the shower water was also Onsen water, the water pressure was weak, but it didn’t bother me much. Inside the Accommodation: Every staff member greeted us with a smile whenever we passed by. We also enjoyed how much there was to see—there’s a pond inside, as well as a beautifully maintained courtyard with an ashiyu (footbath). Since I don’t often buy souvenirs at a Ryokan, I’m glad I could purchase cider made at the on-site winery.

We stayed as a parent and child for my son’s university entrance exams. ■ Warm hospitality for exam takers At check-in, the staff asked, “Are you here for exams?” and gave us a small gift. My son, who was feeling nervous, seemed relieved by the thoughtful gesture, and I’m truly grateful as a parent. ■ Excellent amenities and a comfortable Room The amenity bar was well stocked—my son especially liked the bath salts and was able to relax. I also tried a face mask for the first time in my life! Even as an older guy (haha), it felt very refreshing after a bath. We were assigned a corner connecting Room, which allowed us to maintain privacy while still being close enough—making our stay extremely comfortable. ■ Great location It’s close to the station, with plenty of restaurants nearby, so we had no trouble at all even with a Plan without dinner. ■ A small suggestion for the future Winter in Matsumoto was drier than expected, so having hand cream among the amenities would make it even better! Thanks to the kindness of all the staff, my son was able to take his exam in great condition. We would definitely like to stay again when we visit Matsumoto. Thank you very much!

This was a family trip with our 1-year-old and 4-year-old. When we stayed before, only adult meals were provided, but this time they prepared a kids’ set for our older child. Since our child loves to eat, they were thrilled when it came in a large bento box and they got to open it themselves—they were the most excited of all. Having the fun of opening the lid was also wonderful. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and the adults were very satisfied as well. They also prepared two Rooms for us, which was a huge help—we could use one Room to watch TV and get ready in the morning without waking the children. We usually like to try staying in different places, but this is one place we definitely want to return to again and again!!

This is our second year staying here. We visit every year around this time. The baths are excellent, the staff are very courteous, and the food is delicious. Our favorite is the Chinese restaurant on the second floor—the fried rice is especially good. We’ll likely be back again next year.

We gathered from various places to celebrate our elderly parent's birthday and stayed for one night. First, we relaxed together in the private bath while watching the clouds drift by. The specially prepared sparkling water was a delightful touch. The Onsen made us quite hungry, so we chose a small portion gourmet plan considering my mother, but it left us all fully satisfied. We were touched by the thoughtful celebration gesture from the accommodation, and the mulberry jam we purchased at the shop on our way home was delicious as well. During our stay, whether it was walking freely on the spacious tatami or feeling the warmth of the staff, there was always a cozy and pleasant atmosphere. Thank you very much!
